Where Faridabad is and how it is laid out

Faridabad is a large city in Haryana, directly south of Delhi. It works as a satellite town for people who commute into the capital. The Delhi Metro's Violet Line runs through its main corridor along Mathura Road.

The city is easiest to understand in two parts. The older, built-up core sits along Mathura Road, with numbered sectors such as 11, 12, 16, 19 and 28. The newer belt, often called Neharpar or Greater Faridabad, covers roughly sectors 75 to 89 on the far side of the Agra Canal, according to Square Yards. It is newer and still developing. मेट्रो और रेल

The Violet Line links Kashmere Gate in Delhi with Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabhgarh), and Faridabad has several stations on it. Going south from the Delhi border, the Faridabad stations are:

The last extension opened on 19 November 2018. The whole line carried about 603,000 riders a day in May 2026, so expect crowded trains at peak hours. Sector 28 station lists its first train at 05:42 and last at 23:12, per a metro information site. The one stretch between Escorts Mujesar and Sant Surdas is listed at about 1.7 km. I could not verify walking or driving distances from specific homes to stations. Measure the route from any flat you are considering. Faridabad is also on the Delhi suburban railway network and has local train services.

Roads and expressways

Mathura Road (NH-19) is the main artery. Wikipedia lists the DND–Faridabad–KMP section of the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway as only partially completed. The Faridabad–Noida–Ghaziabad (FNG) Expressway is still under construction (see below).

हवाई अड्डे

Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport is the main airport for the city. I could not verify a distance or drive time, so test the journey at your usual travel hour. Noida International Airport at Jewar was inaugurated on 28 March 2026. One report says commercial flights began on 15 June 2026, while another had earlier expected a mid-April start, so check the airline schedule. At the inauguration the Prime Minister named Faridabad among the districts that would benefit. I did not find a verified road distance from Faridabad to Jewar.

I could not verify road distances for these places. Check them on a map against the exact address.

• अस्पताल: Amrita Hospital is in Greater Faridabad, and the FNG Expressway is planned to start near it. Square Yards lists Raghav Hospital, Janak Hospital and National Hospital in the Neharpar area.
• Schools and colleges: Square Yards lists Jeet Vidya Niketan Public School, Sunshine Public School and Modern Delhi Public School in Neharpar. Manav Rachna University has naming rights at Badkhal Mor station.
• खरीदारी: Bata Chowk station's exits lead to Edleco Mall, an SRS multiplex and the Parshvnath City Mall.

Water is the main civic issue. Faridabad relies on Ranney wells on the Yamuna bed plus tubewells, and a study describes the groundwater as overexploited. The Tribune has reported demand of around 450 MLD against supply of roughly 325 MLD. Those figures are from an undated report, so confirm the current numbers with FMDA. Private tankers fill gaps in some areas.

FMDA announced a 36-hour Ranney well shutdown from 23 April 2026 for pipeline work. A report dated 27 June 2026 describes another 48-hour suspension. Ask residents about summer supply and water quality before you buy. FMDA has also planned 12 new Ranney wells. The Tribune reported that work on five had started, with completion expected in about two and a half years. I could not confirm the current progress.

Power and services

I did not find reliable, current data on power cuts for individual sectors. Ask the society about its power backup and the exact supplier and billing arrangement. Residents of some Sector 75 to 89 colonies have reported problems with sewage, water, and individual power connections, and with handover to the municipal authorities. These are reports and allegations that I could not confirm.

Approvals, RERA and litigation

• Check that the project is registered with Haryana RERA and that the registration has not lapsed. The Tribune reported 38 Faridabad societies marked as lapsed in 2023. Some older schemes still show that status.
• A lapsed registration does not automatically mean a completed flat is illegal. Do ask for the completion or occupation certificate.
• On 3 April the Haryana Town and Country Planning department halted approvals under the stilt-plus-four floor policy after an interim High Court stay. Over 300 applications across Gurugram and Faridabad were affected. The Tribune said the central and northern sectors of Faridabad were among those hit. If you are buying a builder floor, check how this affects its approvals. The case was still being heard.
• Look up consumer commission or RERA orders against the builder. Orders for delay compensation and refunds against several Faridabad developers have been reported.

• FNG Expressway: a 56 km, six-lane road planned between Faridabad, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad. About 28.1 km of it is in Faridabad. It has been delayed for decades, partly over the cost of a Yamuna bridge, which the two states agreed in 2023 to share. As of mid-2026 there is no confirmed completion date, and estimates have ranged up to 2027.
• Gurugram–Faridabad metro link: the DPR was reported ready in May 2020, with a stretch planned to end at Bata Chowk. I found no confirmation that construction has begun.
• Neharpar metro: I could not confirm any approved metro extension into Neharpar. Treat claims about one with caution.

The Mathura Road belt suits people who want a metro link to Delhi and an established city around them. Greater Faridabad suits buyers who can accept a still-developing area, and often more patience with transport and services.

• Check the RERA number, the licence and the sanctioned plan.
• Visit in summer or ask neighbours about water.
• Time the commute to the metro and to work at peak hours.
• Check the owner's title and any dues.
• Browse flats for sale in Faridabad, or look at pages such as Mahindra Chloris और Tarang Orchids for the type of listing details available.
