Greater Noida locality guide

Greater Noida at a glance

Greater Noida is a planned city in Gautam Buddha Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh, run by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA). The Greater NOIDA Authority manages the development of the city. This guide is for people thinking of buying a home here. It covers what we could verify as of 18 October 2026 and flags what we could not.

On ADiHomes as of October 2026, there are 177 live projects in Greater Noida. The median asking price is ₹9,000 per sq ft, based on 130 properties. By status, 55 are under construction, 117 are ready to move and 5 are new launches. Browse the flats for sale in Greater Noida or the new projects in Greater Noida.

Where it is and how it is laid out

Greater Noida lies south-east of Noida. After the city was formed in 1991, its sectors were named Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Omicron, Mu and so on. Alpha, Beta and Gamma are the oldest sectors. For a feel of the older core, see our Alpha 1 guide.

Some sectors border each other in a simple grid. Gamma II sits between Gamma I to the west, Delta III to the east and Beta II to the south. The GNIDA office is in Gamma II.

The western part of the city is different. There, sectors carry plain numbers, and the area is known as Greater Noida (West) or Noida Extension. It has its own Greater Noida West guide.

The naming may change. In 2022 officials said the Greek-letter names could be replaced by numbers. We could not confirm whether that has happened, so check the name on any registry paper.

Wikipedia says roads are wide with service lanes, and that all cabling and utilities were built underground. Treat that as the plan, and check the actual sector yourself.

Connectivity

Metro

The Noida Metro Aqua Line is the only metro line serving the city. It runs 29.7 km with 21 stations, from Noida Sector 51 to Depot in Greater Noida. Trains run every 10–15 minutes.

The Greater Noida stations are Knowledge Park II, Pari Chowk, Alpha 1, Delta 1, GNIDA Office and Depot. Sector 51 links to Delhi Metro's Blue Line at Sector 52 by a walkway about 300 metres long. We could not verify walking or driving distances from individual sectors to stations. Measure the route from the project you are considering.

Expressways and airport

The six-lane Yamuna Expressway connects Greater Noida to Agra. We did not verify other expressway links or travel times, so check these on a map.

The Noida International Airport at Jewar is new. The Prime Minister inaugurated Phase I on 28 March 2026. Commercial operations began on 15 June 2026 with an IndiGo flight from Lucknow. It is about 70 km from central Delhi. Earlier reports gave different opening dates, so airlines and routes may still be changing. We did not verify the distance from Greater Noida.

Schools, hospitals and shopping

We could not verify specific schools or malls with distances, so we have not listed any. Visit the ones you care about and time the commute at school hours.

For hospitals, a few are named in listings:

  • Kailash Hospital: Plot 23, near Pari Chowk, Knowledge Park I. It is listed with around 250 beds and 24x7 emergency.
  • Sharda Hospital: Plot 32-34, Knowledge Park III. Bed counts differ between sources, from about 910 to over 1,200.
  • Fortis Hospital: Block D, Industrial Area, Surajpur Site 4.

Distances depend on your sector, so confirm them on a map.

Civic matters to check

Water and power

Water supply has been a problem in some high-rise societies. Reports from May 2026 described residents queuing for private tankers when municipal supply failed. One cause cited was maintenance trouble at a Ganga water treatment plant and a fluctuating canal level. Residents of affected societies also reported recurring electricity problems. These are reports from specific societies, not city-wide findings.

Before buying, ask the resident welfare association about summer water supply, tanker use, power cuts and generator backup.

Approvals, litigation and stalled projects

We could not verify the current status of approvals, court cases or stalled projects in specific sectors. Do not rely on any listing for this. Check each project's RERA registration and promised possession date on the UP RERA website. Also ask for the sanctioned plan, GNIDA dues clearance and occupancy or completion certificate where applicable. Make sure the lease or registry papers match the plot.

Infrastructure underway or planned

  • Airport: operating since 15 June 2026, as above. Phase I is open, and later phases are planned.
  • Metro to Greater Noida West: The plan is a 17.43 km extension with eleven stations, costing about ₹2,991.60 crore. Status reports differ. One lists it as approved by the UP Government. A later report describes it as still at the revised project report and approval stage. No construction date is confirmed, so do not price a home on it.
  • Depot to Bodaki: A 2.6 km extension with two stations to a planned transport hub, listed as approved and at tender stage.

Who it suits and what to check

Greater Noida suits buyers who want a planned layout with wide roads, and those who value a metro station nearby, such as in Alpha 1 or Pari Chowk. It also suits buyers who are comfortable with more distance from central Noida and Delhi. Compare areas using the Chi 5 guide and Beta 2 guide.

  • Visit at peak hours and at the weekend.
  • Check RERA registration, possession dates and the builder's delivery record.
  • Ask about water, power backup and maintenance charges.
  • Confirm the real distance to the metro, school and hospital you need.
  • Treat planned metro lines as plans, not promises.
