Sector 51 locality guide
Where Sector 51 is and how it is laid out
Sector 51 sits in the southern-central part of Gurugram, between Sectors 50, 52 and 57, with Sector 46 and 47 to the north. Listings usually place it between Golf Course Extension Road and Sohna Road. Pin codes vary by listing (122003 and 122018 both appear), so check the one on your paperwork.
Much of the sector is taken up by Mayfield Garden, a large private colony laid out in lettered blocks (C, J, K, N and others). Around it are group-housing societies, builder floors, a few institutions and some commercial pockets. It is mostly residential, with schools, hospitals and small retail close by.
On ADiHomes as of October 2026, there are 4 live projects in Sector 51: 1 under construction and 3 ready to move. They include Arzoo Apartment, Abhinandan CGHS, Omaxe Designer Villas Mayfield Garden and Orchid Ivy. You can see them together on the new projects in Sector 51 page.
Connectivity
Roads
One local guide puts Sohna Road under 1.5 km away and Golf Course Extension Road about 2 km. It puts NH-48 (Delhi–Jaipur Expressway) about 7–8 km away. Treat these as rough, because the distance depends on which block you are in. Other guides also list Golf Course Road and Netaji Subhash Marg as links.
Weekday traffic is a known weak point. Aggregator write-ups report heavy build-up near the junctions towards Sohna Road and Millennium City Centre.
Metro and rail
There is no metro station inside the sector. Property portals list these as the nearest stations, by road:
- Millennium City Centre (Yellow Line): about 3.3–4 km.
- Sector 54 Chowk (Rapid Metro): about 3.6 km.
Distances differ slightly between sources. Rapid Metro is a separate loop serving Cyber City, Golf Course Road and nearby sectors, so check how you would change lines before relying on it for commuting.
Airport
Indira Gandhi International Airport is roughly 18–20 km away. One guide estimates 30–40 minutes by car. Peak-hour traffic can push that up.
Schools, hospitals and shopping
Schools. A locality map lists these within about 1.5 km of the sector centre: Garima Public School (about 0.5 km), Amity Global School (0.6 km), Euro International School (0.7 km), Presidium (0.9 km), Manav Rachna International School (1.2 km) and the primary section of Delhi Public School (1.5 km). Gurugram University is also listed in Mayfield Garden.
Hospitals. CK Birla Hospital is about 1 km from the sector centre. For homes inside Mayfield Garden it is much closer, as one project listing puts it at a few hundred metres. Artemis Hospital is listed in Sector 51. Medanta is a short drive away, and Park Hospital in Sector 47 is about 2.5 km away.
Shopping. Baani Square, Mall Fifty One, SS Plaza and Ocus Quantum are the commercial spots most often named for this belt. Check distances on a map for the exact block you are considering.
Civic matters to check
Waterlogging and drainage. This is the best-documented issue. Reports name Sector 51 among the places that flooded in heavy Gurugram rain, and a Sector 51 RWA representative complained about damaged and uncleaned storm drains. Aggregator write-ups also mention flooding near Mayfield Garden. Visit during or just after a monsoon shower if you can.
Water. GMDA runs a drinking-water boosting station in Sector 51 that serves a wide area of the city. A 2025 GMDA shutdown notice listed it among the affected facilities. Citywide, demand rises sharply from April to June, and GMDA relies partly on borewells to cover the gap. One aggregator says N and J blocks face summer shortages, but I could not confirm that independently. Ask residents about summer supply and tanker use.
Maintenance and handover. A resident review on a portal claims parts of Mayfield Garden have poor roads because builder dues to the municipal body are unresolved. This is one unverified account, not an official finding. Ask the RWA and the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram who maintains the roads and services in your block.
Approvals, power and litigation. I found no sourced information on court cases or stalled projects specific to Sector 51. I also found nothing reliable on power reliability. That is not proof there are none. Check project registration on the Haryana RERA site, the sanctioned plans, occupation or completion certificates, and the electricity connection status. Search court records for the builder and the land.
Infrastructure underway or planned
- Sector 51–52 dividing road: The Tribune reported (around May 2026) that GMDA approved a Rs 9-crore redesign with new drains, footpaths and street lighting. The tender was started, and the contractor would have six months from the award. I could not confirm that the contract was awarded or that work has started.
- Ambedkar Chowk: GMDA has reportedly revised its plan to add an underpass alongside the proposed flyover, which would affect traffic between Sectors 45, 46, 51 and 52. I found no start date or completion date.
- Gurugram Metro extension: The 28.5 km, 27-station line from Millennium City Centre to Cyber City had its foundation stone laid on 5 September, as reported in 2025. Planned stations include Sector 45, Sector 47 and Cyber Park, which are near but not in Sector 51. One real estate blog expects completion around 2028–29, with some stretches possibly earlier. Another summary describes phase 1 as under construction and phase 2 as at tender stage.
- Sohna Road and SPR metro: This was still at planning or DPR stage in mid-2026, with no firm opening date.
Who it suits, and what to check before buying
Sector 51 may suit families who want schools and hospitals within a few kilometres. It may also suit people who work along Golf Course Road, Sohna Road or Cyber City and accept a road-based commute. It is less suited to anyone who needs a metro station within walking distance.
- Visit at peak hours and, if possible, in the monsoon.
- Confirm the water source, the backup arrangement and the maintenance charges.
- Verify RERA registration, sanctioned plans and completion papers for the specific project.
- Ask who is responsible for roads and sewers in your block.
- Check the status of the 51–52 road works and the Ambedkar Chowk plan on site.
When you are ready to compare, browse flats for sale in Sector 51 and read each project page for current details. This guide uses no price figures, so confirm prices directly with the seller.
