Connectivity

Roads

Residents can reach Golf Course Road, the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) and NH-48 easily. Golf Course Extension Road and Rajesh Pilot Road link the sector towards Sohna Road, Sector 62 and the SPR corridor. Peak-hour traffic is a common complaint on this belt, so test your own commute at the hours you will travel.

Metro and rail

Sector 55-56 is the terminus of the Rapid Metro line and opened on 31 March 2017. One listing puts the sector about 0.58 km from this station, roughly a six-minute walk. The distance will differ by project. The next station, Sector 54 Chowk, is about 1.09 km away.

The Rapid Metro connects to the Delhi Metro Yellow Line at Sikanderpur. Millennium City Centre on the Yellow Line is about 5.3 km away, and Gurgaon railway station about 13.8 km.

Airport

A hotel listing in Sector 56 puts Indira Gandhi International Airport about 40 minutes away by car. Actual time will depend on traffic.

Schools, hospitals and shopping

Amazon Public School is about 0.2 km away and Suraj School about 0.4 km, according to one locality listing. DPS International, St. Xavier's High School, Lancer International and Kunskapsskolan are described as a short drive away. IILM University is about 1.4 km away.

Civic matters to check

Water

Water is the main civic issue to ask about. A June 2026 report quoted a Sector 56 pump operator saying tubewells run 15–16 hours at a stretch to make up for supply. A Sushant Lok 2 resident in Sector 56 said she needed tankers several times in April and May. These are individual accounts, not a sector-wide measure. An older Tribune report also listed Sector 56 among areas with complaints of erratic water pressure. Ask the society about its borewell, tanker and storage arrangements, and speak to current residents.

Drainage

An older Tribune report on a monsoon day named Sector 56 among areas where residents reported blocked drains. Visit after heavy rain if you can.

Approvals and litigation

I did not find reliable, sourced reports of stalled projects or specific court cases in Sector 56, so I cannot comment either way. Check each property yourself. For a ready flat, ask for the occupancy certificate and the society's ownership and transfer papers. For an under-construction one, check the HRERA registration. A lawyer should search court records before you pay a token amount. One source says water supply for sectors 58 onwards is run by GMDA. Ask the society which body handles services in its block.

Infrastructure underway or planned

Sector 56 to Panchgaon metro (planned, not yet under construction). The proposed corridor is 35.25 km long with 28 elevated stations. It would have an interchange next to the existing Rapid Metro station in Sector 56. An October 2026 report says it still awaits the state's final approval. Construction would start only after approval and statutory clearances. Reported costs differ: one report says Rs 10,428 crore, while another cites Rs 8,519 crore. No opening date has been confirmed.

Golf Course Extension Road widening (announced May 2026). GMDA plans to widen the road to eight lanes. The plan includes drains on both sides, footpaths and LED streetlights. The report describes the stretch as linking Sohna Road to Golf Course Road and serving Sectors 58 to 67. The report says the tender is done and the contractor is mobilised. The start date was cut off in the version I could read. Confirm with GMDA whether the works cover the stretch near Sector 56 and what the schedule is.

Who it suits, and what to check before buying

Sector 56 suits buyers who want an established area with a metro station and a ready-to-move choice. One local guide lists higher prices, office-hour traffic and parking shortages near market areas as drawbacks. It may be less suitable if you want a new, amenity-heavy tower, since most listings here are ready-to-move.

Compare societies listed on ADiHomes, such as The Arihant CGHS, Suvidha Apartments Gurgaon, Siddhartha Apartment and Shivalaya Apartments Gurgaon.

  • Walk the route to the metro station and time it at rush hour.
  • Ask about water source, storage and tanker use over the past year.
  • For cooperative societies, ask what membership and transfer rules apply.
  • Verify the occupancy certificate, RERA status and any pending dues or disputes.
  • Check the building's age and condition, parking and lift maintenance.
  • Treat metro and road plans as plans until work starts.
