Golf Course Extension Road locality guide

Golf Course Extension Road at a glance

Golf Course Extension Road (GCER) is a main road in southern Gurugram. It carries on from Golf Course Road and links it to Sohna Road. The Tribune says it serves residents of Sectors 58 to 67 and is a main route toward Faridabad. Sources disagree on where it starts and ends. Some run it to Badshahpur Crossing and NH-48 near Sector 74A. Others describe a core stretch of about 6 km from Vatika Chowk to Ghata village.

On ADiHomes as of October 2026, there are 58 live projects here. The median asking price is ₹18,500 per sq ft, taken from 44 properties. By status, 13 are under construction and 45 are ready to move. How it is laid out

The corridor begins around Sectors 55 and 56, where it meets Golf Course Road, and runs south-east through the newer sectors. Sectors 56 and 57 are older and settled. They have cooperative group housing, builder floors, Sushant Lok pockets and the HUDA market. Sectors 58 to 67 are newer, with mostly premium high-rise projects.

One developer-written blog says the road is 90 metres wide with six lanes, and that a 200-metre commercial belt is planned alongside it. Check the sector plan yourself rather than relying on that. For local detail, see our Sector 56 guide and Sector 57 guide. Listings such as The Arihant CGHS and Suvidha Apartments Gurgaon are in Sector 56.

Connectivity

Roads

GCER connects to Golf Course Road, Sohna Road and the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR). SPR in turn leads to NH-48. AIT Chowk, which links Sectors 53 to 56, is a known bottleneck. The Tribune reports long peak-hour queues there for people heading to Delhi or Sohna Road via GCER.

Metro and rail

There is no metro on GCER itself. The nearest station is Sector 55-56 on the Rapid Metro, which joins the Delhi Metro Yellow Line at Sikanderpur. Distances depend on where you start. One route tool gives about 3.2 km from a point on the road. Moovit shows about 1.7 km, or a 22-minute walk, from another. A 99acres resident review says 10 to 12 minutes by car. The next station, Sector 54 Chowk, is roughly 3.7 km away on the same tool. 99acres puts Gurgaon Junction railway station about 3 km from Sector 57.

Airport

Indira Gandhi International Airport is about 21 km from Sector 57 (BigEstate). A hotel-area guide quotes 35 to 45 minutes by cab via the Dwarka Expressway. Allow more at peak hours.

Schools, hospitals and shopping

The distances below are mostly measured from Sector 57. They will differ for other sectors.

  • Schools: DPS International and St. Xavier's High School are named for the Sector 56 catchment (Square Yards). Chalk Tree Global School, Presidium and Suraj School are listed in Sectors 56 and 57 (Dwello). Gurugram University is about 1.6 km away.
  • Hospitals: Anand Hospital (about 2 km), Kriti Hospital (about 2.1 km), Park Hospital (about 3.1 km) and Paras Hospital (about 3.3 km). A hotel listing in Sector 57 places Artemis about 1.4 km away, CK Birla about 2.6 km and Medanta about 5 km.
  • Shopping: Baani Square (about 2.2 km), Raheja Mall (about 3.9 km), MGF Metropolitan Mall (about 2.9 km) and the Sector 56 HUDA market.

Civic matters to check

Water and power. I could not find reliable, current sector-wise data on either. Ask each society where its water comes from (municipal supply, borewell or tanker) and what its power backup is. Ask for recent bills and complaint records.

Drainage and roads. Waterlogging is a recurring worry. A GMDA monsoon list names the Sector 66/67 dividing road among its vulnerable spots. A resident review of Sector 56 complains about drainage. An older Tribune report called the Vatika Chowk to Ghata stretch risky for pedestrians because footpaths were missing. Conditions may have changed since then, so visit after rain.

Approvals. For new launches, check the project on the Haryana RERA portal. Listing sites show a mix of registered projects and pre-launch ones with registration pending. One site flagged a Sector 63A launch as not yet RERA-registered as of October 2026. Do not pay beyond a refundable amount before registration. For older cooperative societies, ask for the society's records and title papers.

Litigation and stalled projects. I found no sourced reports of stalled projects on GCER. That is not proof there are none. Search HRERA complaints and court records for the specific builder or society.

Infrastructure underway or planned

  • Eight-lane widening: The Tribune reported on 3 May 2026 that the tender was complete and ground work was due to start the following week. It includes drains, footpaths and LED lighting. I could not confirm progress or a completion date.
  • AIT Chowk underpass: GMDA is reported to be planning one. I found no timeline.
  • Elevated SPR corridor: GMDA revived the plan around mid-2026 after earlier delays. It is at the study stage, with land and utility needs still to be assessed.
  • Metro link to Sector 5: A 13.6 km line from GCER to Sector 5 is described as approved by HMRTC. The source is a developer-run blog, and 99acres only says it is on the cards. I found no start or opening date, so treat it as unconfirmed.

Who it suits and what to check

Older Sectors 56 and 57 suit buyers who want a settled area close to Golf Course Road, the metro and established hospitals. The newer southern sectors suit those buying newer stock who can live with a longer commute and no metro for now.

  • Visit at peak hours and after rain.
  • Check RERA registration, the possession date and the title.
  • Confirm water, power backup and maintenance charges with residents.
  • For ready homes, compare societies such as The Arihant CGHS on paperwork and upkeep.
  • Do not rely on projected price rises. Use the asking prices above as your reference point.
