Sector 59 locality guide
Sector 59, Golf Course Extension Road: a locality guide for home buyers
Sector 59 is a residential sector on Golf Course Extension Road (GCER) in Gurugram, Haryana. This guide covers location, transport, daily amenities, civic questions and what is planned. Where information is old, unclear or contested, it says so.
Where it is and how it is laid out
GCER links Golf Course Road, near Sectors 55 and 56, with Sohna Road. A May 2026 Tribune report describes it as the main route for residents of Sectors 58 to 67. Property portals place Sector 59 among Sectors 58, 60, 61 and 63A.
I could not find an official sector plan online showing land use and plot layout. Ask the town planning authorities for the approved zoning plan before relying on brochure maps.
On ADiHomes as of October 2026, Sector 59 has 3 live projects. The median asking price is ₹18,250 per sq ft, taken from 3 properties. One project is under construction and two are ready to move. Examples include Tata Raheja Raisina Residency, Pyramid Midtown and 4S The Aurrum. You can also browse all new projects in Sector 59.
Connectivity
Roads. GCER connects to Sohna Road and Golf Course Road. The Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) leads on to NH-48. One guide says Cyber City, Udyog Vihar and Sohna Road can be reached through NH-48, SPR and the Dwarka Expressway.
Metro. As of 2026 there is no metro station on GCER itself. The nearest working station is Sector 55-56 on the Rapid Metro, which a recent guide puts at 5.5 to 6 km from the main GCER cluster. That is 12 to 15 minutes by cab or auto. The same guide puts Millennium City Centre (formerly HUDA City Centre) on the Yellow Line at 6 to 7 km by road. These are corridor-level figures, not measured from Sector 59, so check the distance from your chosen project. Rapid Metro connects to the Yellow Line at Sikanderpur.
Airport. A property page puts Indira Gandhi International Airport about 18 km from Sector 56, near the start of GCER. A hotel listing in nearby Sector 57 quotes about 41 minutes by road. Travel time from Sector 59 will depend heavily on traffic.
Schools, hospitals and shopping
The only sector-specific distance data I found is an older 99acres profile, so treat these as approximate and confirm on a map.
- Schools: Scottish High International School and Karmel International are listed at about 5 km. Amity Global School is listed at about 7.8 km.
- Hospitals: CK Birla, Artemis and Paras are listed at about 8 km. Sai Dharamraj Hospital is listed at about 7.4 km.
- Shopping: AIPL Joy Square is listed within 3 km. Banjara Market is about 6 km and HUDA Market about 9 km.
Civic matters buyers should check
Water. Gurugram's wider supply has been under strain. A Tribune report said the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) missed several deadlines for a new 100 MLD unit at the Chandu-Budhera treatment plant. It also said demand reached about 700 MLD against 570 MLD supplied one summer, with shortages in newer areas. I could not confirm whether that unit is now running, so ask the project and residents about summer supply.
Drainage and flooding. A recent report in The Wire says Gurugram's stormwater drains are choked with sewage and trash. Ask residents of ready projects about waterlogging on internal roads and on GCER during monsoon.
Road condition. An earlier Tribune report described missing footpaths and uncovered drains on parts of GCER. The planned upgrade (below) is meant to fix this. Check the current state of the stretch you will use daily.
Power. I found no reliable sector-level data on power supply. Ask the developer or resident association about sanctioned load, backup arrangements and recent outages.
Approvals. Check each project's registration on the Haryana RERA portal (haryanarera.gov.in). Portals quote RERA numbers for Pyramid Midtown, such as GGM/398/130/2020/14, but they disagree with each other, and several still show a December 2024 possession date. Verify the registration, validity and any extensions on the official site.
Litigation and stalled projects. I found no report of a stalled project or court dispute specific to Sector 59, but my search was limited and this is not a clean bill of health. RERA does order delay interest elsewhere in Gurugram. One recent order concerned a Sector 70A project. Search the RERA complaints and court records for the developer and project before booking.
Infrastructure underway or planned
- GCER eight-lane upgrade: The Tribune reported on 3 May 2026 that GMDA plans to widen the road to eight lanes. The plan includes drains, footpaths, LED lighting and a green belt. Officials said the tender was complete and the contractor mobilised. I could not confirm actual progress, so check it on site.
- SPR elevated corridor: GMDA floated a tender for a 4.2 km elevated road between NH-48 and Vatika Chowk, estimated at about ₹755 crore. Another source says GMDA is restarting the project report process. Its status is unclear.
- Metro: A line from Sector 56 towards Vatika Chowk along SPR is described as proposed, not built. Some blogs claim work has started, but I found no official confirmation. A separate HUDA City Centre to Cyber City line was approved by the Union Cabinet in 2023, but it is a different project. Do not count on a metro station near Sector 59 until construction is confirmed.
- New road link: A 24-metre road linking Sector 49 to SPR, near Godrej Aristocrat, was opened in September 2026 according to a developer press release. It is outside Sector 59 but eases access to SPR and GCER.
Who it suits
The sector may suit buyers who work around Golf Course Road, Cyber City or SPR and are comfortable driving or taking a cab to the metro. It also suits those who want a choice of ready and under-construction homes. Buyers who need a walkable metro or a short school run on foot should test the commute first. You can compare options among flats for sale in Sector 59.
Things to check before buying
- Drive the route to work and to the Sector 55-56 station at peak hours.
- Confirm RERA registration, possession date and occupation certificate for the specific tower.
- Ask about water source, tanker use, power backup and maintenance charges.
- Visit during or just after rain to see drainage.
- Expect more supply. Some portals list further launches in the sector, and sources disagree on whether one has RERA registration yet.
- Do not rely on brochure appreciation claims. Compare listings using actual asking prices.
